It's interesting to compare 35-100mm results with Roger's Olympus 75mm F1.8 results he published few months ago

Oly 75mm at F1.8 resolves 880/765 Line Pairs/Image Height, at F2.8 it resolves 1020/925.
The last chart in 35-100mm review shows that Panasonic zoom at 100mm and F2.8 resolves about 630 LP/IH in average.

If you crop field of view of 75mm lens to FOV of 100mm lens you need multiple resolution by 0.75. 925*0.75 = 693 > 630.

If you crop it, the border resolution of the lens on the crop borders is not going to be 925, it is going to be closer to 1020 (it is practically perfect except in the corners, which will be cropped out in your scenario).

Too bad Olympus does not provide digital zoom (except 2x) right in camera for convenience, it would make their primes so much more useful.
