D4 colour variation during night timelapse
With a shutter speed of 13 seconds for the shown example, there is no way that the colour variation can be the effect of the mains cycle (50 Hz in Europe). Such a large colour variation can also not be explained by a Nikon Capture software alghorithm. Why would one JPG be different from another one taken 15 seconds later, if the NEFs are identical? I am 100% sure that the problem is in the camera. What I would like to know is, if other D4 (or D800/D600) owners are experiencing the same problem. If not, it's an isolated problem with my camera and I will send it in for a repair.
