Thanks for the reply. I have the 27-inch PA wide-gamut model. And I own two HP Z3100 printers, which use 12 inks, so, I'm making my own exhibition prints on fine art and canvas substrates. I'll be using the monitor in aRGB mode, not sRGB.

Here's what I did:

  • Bought the 27-inch PA
  • Ordered the SpectraView software
  • Ordered an X-Rite i1 Display Pro

Using the genuine X-Rite device will let me profile any monitor, not just the NEC. If I bought NEC's rebranded X-Rite device, I'd be limited to using it with NEC monitors. The genuine branded X-Rite device is listed among the colorimeters that are supported.
