It's a pity that we can't bracket any setting! As you say Brian, a particular setting won't work in all situations. And I bet many of us change a setting and then forget about it.

I agree, its extremely restrictive, for example if I want contrast+1 and any Photo Style like Defog for example or any of the other combinations you can't because turning on any additional setting other than default grays out everything else.  Imagine if you could combine any settings you wanted, and then as you say there is no way to save settings or have them implemented at turn on as in a Mysettings top switch position.

You can make your camera handle exposure and focus automatically, but for the huge changes in dynamic range that you encounter expecially in tropical countries, there is no automatic way to have the camera deal with it, the only exception I know of is the fuji EXR AUTO mode.

So in a way I have thought about this contrast a bit like a DR control, for low DR scenes I can use high contrast, for scenes with above average DR I could switch this off and use the defaults contrast, and for extreme DR I turn the top switch to SCN position where I have Backlit set as default, this brings in the Smart Range double exposure overlay system.

I have to do a bit more experimenting yet to see if I can use +1 contrast most of the time except for very high DR.  The reason I am experimenting is because I find the default output very bland and almost always requires PP to give it a bit of vibrance, and unfortunately samsung has been very heavy handed with some of the setting increment sizes by making them too course, it would have been nice to have all the user adjustments half the value they currently are as it is almost impossible to get the camera to your liking by using the internal settings.
