Are either the new G15 or the Eos M or G1X suitable for doing $500 Weddings (Pics on a disc)

Consider getting a couple of 20d or 30Ds. They are dirt cheap and will get the shots a point and shoot won't. I have tried some good ones and none can do the main shooting job..but they are handy for cake shots etc

Flash is essential...I do plenty of weddings and wouldn't consider doing it without a flash. A 430EX or an older 380EX is OK for starters.

The Rebel series are fine for weddings in your market. I use 600D and 650D due to weight and a bad back but also use L series lenses.

Here is a shot from an award red carpet last night done with a rebel. You only have 2-3 secs if you are lucky as you fight for attention.
