Upgrade Aperture ? Or move to Photoshop Elements ?

I currently have Aperture 2 and while it's fine for simple editing, it is showing its age a bit.  Things I like - ease of cataloguing photos, quick to do simple changes.

Things I dislike - limited editing features, it's propensity to fill up my hard drive with duplicate files...

I've been holding off upgrading to Aperture 3 because, frankly, each upgrade seems to be a bit flaky judging by the comments in the Apple App store, so while it might be the simpler option, I'm not sure it's reliable enough.

So the other option I was looking at was Photoshop Elephants 11 (along with Premiere 11 as I have some movies I need to sort out).  It seems to be better geared towards storing photos, and the editing modes look easy to use, but flexible.

Has anyone used both yet and have any comments, good or bad ?

I'm going to download the trial version and give that a go, but would be grateful for any thoughts or other suggestions.

Thanks all
