Tamron 200-500

And just for grins a 200-500.

I assume that's the Tamron 200-500 and it is too good just to grin about. I had that lens and I think it has the best IQ of any consumer zoom by Sigma, Tamron or Tokina that reaches to 400mm or 500mm. There just is no better. It's extremely sharp and maintains it better to 500mm than any other of it's class or sometimes even half again more money.

I used to hand hold it at 500mm and take what I think were incredible shots. Only when spending thousands more was I able to exceed it's IQ. I think it's better than Nikon's 80-400 but behind the 300 f/4 AFS with converter. I've seen them used for $600 for Heaven's sake. That is truly a bargain. I think it beats the pants off the Sigma 150-500 for less money. If Tamron would upgrade it to a sonic ring motor and add VC, I'd buy it again.

Shot with the Tamron 200-500 f/5-6.3 at f/8 500mm at 250th of a second
