What Happened to Canon's "Night Scene" on the G1X?

That's kinda what I wound up doing: I set it to 2nd curtain flash and then had to diddle with multiple manual exposure settings until I got something that was neither so bright that my wife looked like a cardboard-cutout against a sunset wallpaper nor too lowly lit against a pretty sunset.  The old mode would correctly expose for the overall un-flashed scene and then 2nd curtain flash for a correct foreground exposure that would just overpower that area of the less exposed original exposure.  It was perfect and QUICK.  I'll try the P mode with 2nd curtain, maybe that will work.  But I'm always open to any other suggestions!  Thanks everyone.
