Re: Canon DPP vs. Adobe Lightroom

Thanks again, friends.

  • I use the "batch feature" mainly because it seems to me the best way to get excellent jpeg with the setup you have stored in the camera (and then individually refine them)
  • your statement "I never shoot batches of shots that need identical processing" applies exacly to me! That's not my kind of use of the camera, it was just to say that also DPP can do that
  • I understand that, to many, ACDSee may sound like a toy or something, but -trust me- since at least its version 10 or so, it's really a quick, powerful, and quality tool (even astonishing in its midtones-adjustment and application-strenght-adjustment)
  • still, PSE is a good idea: I'll have a look!

drpix and Timbukto:

  • to be honest (even if I own the 10-22 and 15-85, both compatible), DLO is the only feature I haven't yet almost used in DPP, but now I see so many people appreciating it
  • I had to "cancel" it once started because apparently it's really CPU-intensive or at least too heavy for my laptop, or has got problems with it
  • but now I'll try it again !
