Why A99 video is limited?
2

I know A99 video is similar to A77 but I still don't know why there are those limits. I am talking about f3.5 only in AF mode, and mandatory P mode with AF.

Could anyone explain it to me? It sounds that AF in video is crippled compared to new Nikons that can AF with any aperture (yes I know it is not perfect also) and can do that in M,A,S,P modes.

Isn't A99 and A77 AF video just marketing gimmick but nothing usable in DSLR reality where you try to keep shallow depth of field and 180 degree shutter. Is there any trick to keep control over shutter and F during video with AF?

Do you think they will fix that in future cameras/firmware or is it SLT design that limits this?
