The jpg shown on the LCD when shooting raw, uses (at least on the older Sony a-mount cameras) the current image settings.  You should be able to set the color, contrast, etc. to give you a similar image/histogram to that you would get from a raw with the exposure you are using.

I don't recall what the settings were, but I believe that they included using neutral color, reduced contrast, and reduced sharpening.  Someone may have posted the settings for the camera you use.  Try starting a thread with a subject that asks the question.
