S100 lens issue when zooming in-out? Should I service my camera or not?

Hi All,

I’ve been having an issue for the last few months with my s100.   I’m not sure if anyone had similar issue or this issue has been already discussed (I do apologize if it was).

However whenever I want zooming out or in, there is a tiny lens shaking motions.   It does not affect still shots, however I can see this when shooting movies.
Since my s100 camera falls under serial numbers with possibility of having lens error caused by detaching lens as per Canon official statement.    Could this be sub effect of the real problem?

Should I contact Canon Canada about it?  My camera is still under warranty and the lens shaking motion is  really worrying me.

overall I really like the camera, however I still get odd soft/blurry shots.   My brother in law bought his few months ago later build (outside of affected by lens problems batch) and his pictures seems a little sharper…..

Also can someone BIG please point me to the recommended settings page?  I haven’t been on dpreview pages for some time now so maybe my settings are out of whack…

I noticed new 1.0.1 fw as well (which should fix video flickering from my understanding)….  I might upgrade it as well….

Please advise,

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
