Himalayan sujourn

Hi all,

Just completed a trip to the Eastern Himalayas - Darjeeling. Fabulous trips with some really interesting takeaways which I felt could be shared in this forum. Each picture has its own commentary ...

Hope you like the pictures and they can provide a perspective. Feel free to leave any comments/ critiques! Thanks for watching!

The downed shutters of many a shop in Darjeeling are a sign of the political unrest in the region which has resulted in commerce being hampered. However, as is common across India, industrious people hawk along the walk ways to sell locally produced goods to tourists.

Not much to do in the evenings as 3 friends catch up at the Mall - that goes for the young as well as the old generations! ... Just lucky to have captured the three youths closely tonally co-ordinated to the ladies in the foreground...

No one heads out without an umbrella - nevermind which time of year it is!

Burdened through sheer exhaustion ... in the mountains, people have to carry supplies like this to make a living

Amongst all this - a true character!

Women of the tea gardens of Darjeeling ... all colourfully dressed each day, everyday!
