I think that the Sigma 50-500mm OS is awesome lens, the range , macro ability are just fantastic. The stabilizer is very good also.

at f/8 it will be hard to tell the difference between this lens and a $10,000 lens. Sometimes perhaps in the quality of the bokeh or background diffusion. But nevertheless a great buy for the price.

It is a steep learning curve to shoot with telephoto lenses and the secret is:

a) keep you shutter speeds high, therefore you will need high ISO settings.

b) learn how to hold your equipment, control breathing, use monopod or tripod, or if handheld try to use your car, tree, fence, whatever as support.

c) be patient with yourself, your hobby and respect nature, do not stress wildlife.
