Canon FD lens gurus: what is it and how can I get rid of it?? :(

What is this white stuff of my Canon nFD 85mm f/1.8?

What is this white stuff on my Canon nFD 85 f/1.8? The picture original size is HUGE. So you can zoom in if need be.

It does not have the branched look of lens fungus I've seen on google images; it looks more like compressed dandruff against glass.

Location-wise, looks like it is on the second or third element from the most distal element (front) so I'd be attacking this from the front (red below).

Elements (blue); My guess of where this white stuff is (red). Adapted from http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/fdlenses/85mmf2optic.jpg

Questions:

1. What is it?

2. Is there a tutorial somewhere for servicing the nFD 85 f/1.8 or nFD lenses in general?

Thanks all!!
