O.K. I was not specific enough. I hope to get to those kind of mountains before long.

For this trip I'm not so much interested in taking pictures of the mountains in the Eastern United States (Shenandoah, Blue Ridge Parkway, etc.) I'm trying to take pictures of fall colors in the valleys below the mountains. The colors are more vibrant with sun light on them. Early morning and early evening... the sun is blocked from shining on the valley by the mountains.

Seems like you almost have to wait for higher sun to get that?
