Well, my D7000 has been sold, so I can't compare it to the D600 side-by-side. But, as great a DSLR as the D7000 is, the amazingly low D600 noise at most any ISO allows you to "focus" on the aperture or shutter speed, or both, without worry about whether the ISO chosen by the camera will be too high for a decent image. As far as I'm concerned, that capability alone would justify a move to a D600 (or D800).

Plus my great 50 mm and 85 mm primes are now "real" primes, at least as we old-timers have always though of them in the past.
