High contrast b&w portrait

High key != blown out

This image is blown out.  The nose, the hand or whatever it is, and the upper right hand side has no definition. IOW large parts of your image have zero definition.

In any photo 101 class this would get a fail.  If you do not like my criticism try printing it as zero detail does not render well.  Blown out is not the same as high contrast or high key.  Learn to recognize the difference.
