And that's the rub isn't it? How can an aps-c camera be the just about the same size and weight as a 1" sensor camera? Shouldn't the 1" sensor camera be significantly smaller and lighter? When it comes to IQ, DOF control, etc, yes, it is an apple-vs-oranges comparison. But when something as big as an aps-c sensor can be made as small, then it is either a tribute to Sony's engineering and miniturization prowess, or Nikon's lack of capability to do the same.

Remember too that MILCs lay to claim is small size and lower weight. If Nikon 1 can't show a significant reduction in size vs its competitors, for such a much smaller sensor, then it's not as good as it should be.
