Well the first question you need to answer is the percentage of your keeper shots made at 2.8 or even 3.5. Then the next question is could those shots be recreated with the improved VR of the F4

Of the shots that could not, for whatever reason (shutter speed bokeh, etc) could you live without them in your port.

That's the true opportunity cost of switching.

Im likely in the market for he F4 but I don't own either 70-200 2.8 (I do own an 80-200 2.8 AFS and a 1802.8AF).

Though if I did, and I was comfortablthirty he heft I'd keep what I had.
