In a little closer

A few posters have commented that the images seem a little distant, so I thought I'd upload a few more from the evening taken at a closer range.

Just a couple more thoughts on the Xpro-1 in an event context:

I don't know whether it's just because I'm used to the 135f2, but the 60mm did feel very short. While this is good in that it encourages you to get close to the subject, for candid stuff I prefer a little more distance, and even though the Fuji is not DSLR big, you do still get noticed when you point it at someone.

The dynamic range was really good, allowing me to shoot people in black suits on a bright balcony without blocking of blowing out. Really impressive.

All the images were shot in RAW and processed in Lightroom 2.4. No watercolours!

And finally, the No.1 hardest thing about shooting an event like this: Getting flattering images of people who are eating and drinking.
