Oly 45mm on E-M5 : Great Combo for Concerts/Theatre

Yesterday I photographed a performance of the "Revue" by members of the Antwerp Bar.

This is not a professional concert or theatre production, but a show staged and performed by amateurs, consisting of a mix of short comical sketches (related to recent news in the legal world) and songs (covers of well known songs with alternative lyrics).  Costumes and sets are minimal and mostly improvised.

Normally, I would take the E-5 (and/or E-3) to such an event, and shoot most with the ZD35-100mm and/or ZD150mm lenses.  Maybe also PL25mm and/or ZD12-60mm, depending on circumstances.

Yesterday, I decided to do a little experiment and take only the E-M5 and the 45mmF1.8 lens.

I knew that I would be able to walk around freely in the venue, so it was not a problem to be limited to one single focal length.

Or take a look at the samples further down in this post..

But I think the combo works admirably well for those circumstances.

It seems hard to beat as a low-light and also LOW-WEIGHT setup...
