Thom Hogan's Update on D800 Left AF Issue
He just updated the rating on the D800 to "Recommended" and provides this info:
"If you're not aware of the "D800 left-sensor focus problem", you need to be. For quite some time in 2012 Nikon shipped a large number of cameras with sensor alignment issues. This appears to have stopped in the US with serial numbers higher than about 3055000. Cameras with numbers lower than that should be tested and returned to Nikon for warranty repair if found to have the issue."
I 'd assume that that serial number cutoff refers to the D800. What about the D800E? Anyone knows what serial numbers are safe? Thanks.
