To do ro not to do WB?
1

Deal All,

I am looking for your experience and thoughts on how to best use captured WB.

I have a grey folding "reflector" courtesy of the Amateur Photographer magazine, from many years ago.  I have used it many a times since.  However, my experience leads to this question.

Should I do a WB every time I arrive at a new location? Often mid-morning - I am not an early raiser.  Or should I do a WB on "a glorious day" and keep it for as long as possible.

In the past I would follow option one, but one day I in September - Europe - I took a WB on such a very clear and crisp day and decided to not redo it again for several months.  This meant of course that the Camera (SD10 or SD14) - cannot remember which - was calibrated for a specific day, but I carried using that WB on other days, even in different countries - thus above option 2.

I was pleased with the results... Hence my question.  This action, I would guess is against the theory, if there is one: is it mad or "pure genius"?  Well, not quite, but you know what I mean...

What do you think?  Have you done it as well?  Is it "sacrilege"?
