Re: Something you need to know about the Samsung NX mount....

The NX mount has the longest registration distance of all the compact mirroless cameras.  For reasons that baffle, Samsung made the mount just long enough that it can never be used with any of the 35mm film rangefinder lenses that are widely avialable on the new and used market.   This includes: Leica, Voigtlander, Canon, Nikon, Konica, Contax, Zeiss, Yashica, Rollie, Industar, Sears and many many others.   Micro 4/3, NEX, etc. can all adapt these lenses, and many others too.  Also, any Olympus u 4/3 camera has image stabilization in the body so any adapted lens is stabilized.  This may not be important for your trip but is something to consider if you expect to use your camera for a long time after you return.    Tedolph

A person considering a 2 lens kit camera at Costco probably isn't thinking about attaching a Leica, Voigtlander, Contax or Zeiss lens to it so I'm sure it's not a consideration.

Samsung wouldn't be my first choice, but for that price, how can you go wrong?
