Earlier you expressed a liking for an aluminium Velbon tripod that is 115 pounds, which is about US$185 without a ballhead.

For slightly more than that (about $250) you could get a lighter and sturdier Sirui carbon fibre tripod. Some other posters have already recommended the smallest models to you, but I use and would recommend the slightly larger but taller and much more stable T-1204x.

The tripod weighs only 800g (28oz) without the ballhead, and about 1.1kg with a ballhead. Often it comes bundled with a Sirui G-10 ballhead, which should be more than adequate for M43 gear (I use a Photo Clam PC-33 ballhead on my Sirui tripod, which is better but more expensive than the G-10 ballhead).

The T-1204x is a real beauty. It's almost Gitzo quality, but at less than half the price. Here are some reviews of the T-1204x:

I own four tripods and the Sirui is easily the best in terms of build quality and capability. It is also, however, the most expensive.

Hey NZ Scott. That one looks nice, but I'm leaning more towards the SIRUI T005X if I go with that brand.

Seems to have most of the features of the one you mentioned, but is considerably cheaper

Hey Kiri, ... I know you have lots of options. But if your considering the Sirui T005, I would suggest you quickly look at the Beike 555.

It won't be as high quality as the Sirui, but it's also considerably cheaper. I noticed that was one of your decision points.

Anyways, I purchased one off ebay, and it suits my needs quite well. It will do everything the Sirui will do, but for $75.
