Best way to upgrade for larger files
I have a MacPro (2009) 2.66 GB Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 8 GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GT-120 Video Card with 512 VRAM. Working with PS CS4 processing a 16x24" print with 8 layers - reveals it's slowing down in processing that large a photo/print.
My question: Will more RAM, i.e.,16 GB alone or combined with a new video card with more VRAM address this bogging down in processing? A new MacPro is not in the near future (either in Apple's offering or in my budget) and I would be willing to spend some money upgrading my MacPro and perhaps invest in a D800 rather than a new computer to handle the larger files..
