Strarting to explore informal portrait photography - lens(es)?

There must be a thread on this subject, but it  seems to be hidden in the distant past.

I am starting to explore portrait photography, and would be grateful for advice about appropriate lenses. Most of my shooting will be informal, either indoors (low light) or on the street. It is more likely to be with my GF1 or similar upgrade, and the body and lens combination should go into a jacket pocket or small shoulder bag for unstaged opportunities.  I have the 14-45 and 20mm, but all my portraits seem to be shot with the 20mm for the reasons given.

The Panasoniic 25mm and Olympus 45mm have been mentioned in different threads for taking portraits of fast moving toddlers or full body outdoor pictures. Are they compact enough for my needs? Is there other lens you might suggest?

Thanks

F.
