Lord Howe Island, Australia

Note : Crossed post in 1D, 5D forum

Lord Howe Island voted No. 1 destination in Australia : yet many Australians themselves have not been there themselves, but rather travel to Bali or Asian countries where tours are so much cheaper. For those esp. photographers like us who loves the natural beauty of nature, birds, plants and marine life, this is the most magical place that will astound anyone.

The Island is only 11km long and 4km wide, formed by volcanic activity and sits on a trench of water 800 meters deep. The best time to travel is from Sept onwards when all the migratory birds is already settled down and breeding starts. Just Google for Lord Howe Island, it will provide a vast amount of information.

Only 300 tourist are allowed on the island at any one time. The main transport is the bicycle. Everything is recycled on the Island and if the waste could not be recycled, then it is transported back to the mainland to preserved its environment.

The next time anyone who travels to Australia, I would highly recommend this place.
