Nikon 24-120VR F4 vs 28-300VR...

Well, I know it was done before me, but just want to share my feelings to you guys...

My Nikon 24-70 is in Melville for back focusing issue... I have a weddings to shoot every weekend, so I said: "No problem, I have my trusted backup/travel 28-300VR...", but something was telling me to try 24-120VR F4... I am glad I did...

AF of 28-300VR is nowhere near of 24-70 and IQ is not there as well... Although - I was surprised by IQ and AF speed of 24-120! Guess what - I walked away from my local shop with 24-120 and sold 28-300VR on eBay... Someone said that putting 28-300VR on D800 makes it an over-priced and over-sized point and shoot... I am not kinda agree with this statement for 100%, but it is kinda true...

Just got Tamron 70-300VC to cover my travel long end and can't be happier... Well, I am still missing convenience of 28-300VR, but when I am thinking about IQ - that bug goes away...

Here a couple of comparison shots I did in the store just the way I would shoot them in real life... No tripod or controlled light... Yes, it is unscientific, but it is a real life test...

I don't need to say which lens where... You can see for it yourself. First shot - center, second - corner...

Real photography - it's just the ability to see what was already created by God!
