Re: Flip Out Screen?

Hi, long time reader, first time posting.

When it comes to a flip out screen, I find it immensely useful, especially for overhead shots in crowds, or very low angle long exposures. I don't think I could do without.

i recently got the opportunity to spend a day with a 5d Mk III, and although I loved the low light capability and ridiculously fast focus, I really missed the flip out screen of my GH2 when it came to trying to shoot the crowds at the Oktoberfest. And I really, really missed the WYSIWYG EVF; seriously don't understand how one can be fine with having to take a bunch of shots got check the settings - might be fine for pros who have the feel for ISOs, WB, exposure etc etc, but for us amateurs this is a massive frustration at times.

Bottom line is only if your shooting style sees the camera stuck to your farce 90%+ of the time, you don't need an articulating screen. Otherwise, you won't regret it.
