Those of us who love to shoot action, and have used and appreciated the significant difference over the newer D7000, would certainly hope so.  Absolutely certainly hope so.

And it is perhaps a little bit unnerving that there's a group who seemingly insists, repeatedly, that there's no room for a D400 as so many of us are waiting, as Nikons production capability was so unfortunately set back.

I don't think that we're unreasonably passing over the D7000/D600.  We're looking for that extra umph for action in terms of shutter speed, and auto-focus performance in a durable all weather body... not a step back.
