I have had both the 150-500mm and the 50-500mm and I could not see much difference between them at the long end. They both weigh about the same. The 50-500mm will focus closer and has a greater magnification (reproduction ratio). See the specs for both lenses. I beleive the 150-500mm is around 1:5.4 and the 50-500mm is around 1:3.4 and that is the reason I prefer the 50-500mm. That along with the 50-150mm extra range.

Sigma long zoom comparisons.

Hello Ron

what do you think of buying a FA*300 (the one which is listed by KEH) ?

With a DA*200 and a 1.4TC, I'll have 200f2.8, 300f2.8, 430f4, 600f4 and 840  f5.6

No need of zoom continuous focal lens adjustment since  can crop shots in PP

By the way have you seen my last serie ?
