your assessment here is correct

the images straight from the MM's DNG require some tweaking in post

DPR minimizes tweaking in these samples

Leica's DNGs are tuned to deliver a flat image that requires application of a curve for pop, akin to shooting negative, rather than slide film

at the web reduced size, the sharpness this camera can produce cannot be appreciated, so you have to download the Original size shots

they assume the user knows how to do this

I went through the files you cited and others shown in DPRs samples

OOF is not the problem you are seeing
