Above and below the surface. California Giant Salamanders.

6" dome port

The dome is 6" plastic CCTV dome that I mount to the front of the lens using a cheap wide angle hood. It allows me to photo the underwater larvae without the distortion and surface reflections of the water.

Transformed sub-adult. This little guy is about 6" long. They'll get as big as a foot long.

Some mixed California Giant Salamander shots from the past month with A77/Tamron 60mm and A350/Sony 16-50mm and HVL-F36AM flash. The underwater stuff is shot through the port.

The A77 is in the shop (broken front dial), so the A350 took priority over the A700 since it has the live view and articulating LCD.
