Canon 70-300L Deer Rut - Richmond Park UK
Hi SLRLens users,
I would like to share with you photographs taken with a 550D and 70-300L yesterday morning at Richmond Park. The conditions were foggy and I did not get the desired orange sunrise. However enjoy the photos.
My experience of the 70-300L as a wildlife lens:
I replaced my 100-400L and 70-200F4L with this lens and so far I am impressed. Even with a f-stop of 5.6 at 300mm the lens delivers because its sharp and contrasty throughout (no need to stop down). However there have been moments where I wished for a 400mm and above but that would mean trade-off against portability/weight.
I personally am still contemplating moving to a sigma 120-300 f2.8 + 1.4TC as a wildlife lens. I am inclined to this particular lens because of a) Versatility (Zoom), b) fast (f2.8), c) with 1.4TC get a 420mm f4 and d) cheaper then 500mmF4 or 300mmf2.8.
