Exactely! Just because I expected such a "miracle", I updated my good old Panasonic LX3 with 24-60mm with Canon S100 with 24-120mm 10 early this year. The trade-off in IQ is quite clear and annoying. Finally, I sold it last week, and will replace it with Sony RX100.

Anyway, my own side-by-side comparison shots on Photokina with 16-50 and 18-55 on my NEX-5N were good enough for me, so that I`m ready to accept this compromise and to buy this pancake. The inconsistency with pancake on my NEX-5N is the same as with 18-55mm.
