I think you answered your own question in saying that you believe that the A99 it targeted at all FF users(great all around camera). Though I don't think this would have any impact on the specialized market segments in the end.

Having said that, I think the A99 proves to have numerous features and capabilities making it is an excellent studio and set camera.
