The short answer is neither.  There are much longer answers and other posters may wish to go into them.

IMHO the quality of an image will be determined 95% by the skill of the photographer and 5% by the equipment that he uses.

Different sensors and lenses may enable the photographer to shoot a wider range of subjects (e.g. ultra wide angle or long telephoto or macro) and to shoot under more adverse conditions (e.g. lower light) but his skill will always be the most important factor by a long way.
