I guess it's just what you are accustomed to. I'm coming from Leica M and Nikon F.

Ironically my one AF lens is the Nikkor 2.8/35-70 and it has an aperture ring.

The thing that bothers me about using the command dial is that sometimes in the thick of things the setting can be changed accidentally by brushing up against the dial and I may not notice it.

This was one of the main reasons why I switched from EOS a few years ago. The command dial on the back of the camera drove me crazy, because it was so easy to brush up against it and it would change something without you noticing it.
