Bristly Donkey Orchid

The Bristly Donkey Orchid (Diuris setacea). The 'bristly', refers to the thin spirally twisted leaves. Discovered by Robert Browne, world famous English taxonomist, when Mathew Flinders called at Albany in December 1801, on his exploratory & mapping expedition when he circumnavigated the Australian Continent.

Canon EOS5d, Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro, Canon Speedlite 430EX, Honl 1/8 speed grid. Flash positioned off camera to the left and slightly behind the subject. Manual exposure mode with TTL flash, exposure 1/400 s at f/11.0, ISO 400, with -1 stop flash exposure compensation.
