"£1k cameras" group test by Digital Camera World Magazine (Oct.2012)

Ive read it on the current issue of Digital Camera World Magazine:

"£1k cameras" group test
Entry List:

canon eos 60d
canon eos 7d
nikon d7000
nikon d300s
pentax k-5
sony alpha a77

here is what they say about d7000's performance:

" image quality is pretty good but, despite its reasonably high-resolution 16.2 mp sensor, the d7k fails to deliver as much fine detail in pictures as any other camera on test in this group. This is the case in both raw and jpeg shooting.
Our test sample also had a rear-focus problem, in that it consistently autofocused just behind the actual target with all of thelenses we put on the camera.
Thankfully, the d7k does future an af fine-tune function."

Image quality in focus:

overall image quality is good but not great.Resolution is dissapointring in both raw and jpeg shooting modes, even at the base sesitivity setting.
for this test the stars they gave out of 5 is shown below:

canon eos 60d --4 stars
canon eos 7d --4 stars
nikon d7000--3 stars
nikon d300s--4 stars
pentax k-5-- 3 stars
sony alpha a77 -- 4 stars

Comparison test

d7k came 5th on this test among 6 cameras while canon eos 7d was the 1st.

their verdict is: "image quality and consistency simply arent as good as from the d300s.
Despite its impressive spec list, the d7000 doesnt quite deliver."

As a d7k user I am very dissapointed to see the results.

I wonder what other d7k users think of its image quality?

Canon EOS 60D Canon EOS 7D Nikon D300S Nikon D7000 Pentax K-5 Sony SLT-A77
