I tend to agree here.  I bought the G3 to upgrade from the G1 and GF1 but anticipated it would be a stopgap.  In the end I found it quite a nice little camera and enjoyed it but wanted a bit more.  I ended up buying the OMD, added the grip/L bracket from  Jim Millich and feel I will get a number of years from it at this point.  I kept the G3 as backup and to use with my tilt adapter and NIkkor 35/2 lens.  Happy with both but enjoy shooting more with the OMD for a variety of reasons, probably pertinent primarily to me.  I imagine the G5 might be even a better fit but I've chosen my main body--but was lucky enough to be able to keep the G3 too.

So--if you can keep both, do it, if you can't, shoot with both for several weeks and it will become apparent which suits your style of shooting best.
