I have both, 70-300 and 50-200.

Had 70-300 for one year and then sold it because of a deal, where I bought 50-200. 50-200 is better in any aspect than 70-300, but it is big and heavy. When I went hiking 70-300 went with me. 50-200 stayed at home. So I bought 70-300 again, used olympus have very low price these days.

70-300 needs good light and you are done. Also macro is a nice adition.

If you have money, take it. If it is not for you, sell it. It is simple.
