Re: Not sure what happened.....................

Glad the problem is fixed, Ray!    Running "Sandbox" software is an "Easy Button", (but better than nothing), since the software remains part of your operating system and can be corrupted.  My recommendation, (I teach a Continuing Legal Education Class for the Missouri Bar on computer/client security.  Lawyers have an ABSOLUTE duty to ensure client confidentiality!)?  Over and above running the "Free" version of Avast:http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Download and run "Combofix" once a month. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/

Download and run "CCleaner" once a week, (or as needed).   http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER

For external threats  ...  especially if you are running a laptop, (which you may loose or have stolen) or your computer is accessable to any other person, encrypt your drives, (including the Boot Sector/Operating System on your "C" drive), using "Truecrypt": http://www.truecrypt.org/

For absolute protection against ANY threat from the internet, install VMBOX: https://www.virtualbox.org/  It is a pain in the butt to set up, but once done, it is transparant.

This software creates a completely separate VIRTUAL computer on your physical machine, (with it's own operating system, etc., etc.), then use it for all of your internet access.  (I run a 10gig encrypted VM system).  Your physical machine and virtual machine run at the same time, so it is only a question of switching between open windows.  If you run into a problem, pick up a "nasty", you just delete it and run from the backup. You can run multiple VM boxes for different purposes.

All of the above referenced software is a free download.

Warm Regards
