I know that the crop factor comes from the body and not the lens. What I was trying to say is that a few people mentioned crop factor as something I may have to consider when using an FX lens on my DX body. I'm just wondering why this was brought up specifically in regards to an FX lens, when the crop factor affects DX lenses as well.

I mean as long as the body and therefore the sensor size and crop factor is the same, it's going to effect a DX and FX lens of the same FL equally, isn't it?

You do not have to consider crop factor at all. If you only use your lenses on a DX body it is not relevent.  A 35mm FX lens and a 35mm DX lens are both 35mm. As far as you are concearned it is a 35mm lens, simple as that.
