For  low light a fast lens becomes critical in addition to height iso especially when you want to stop motion. not sure what focal length prime would work. 85 f1.8 or something longer?

Why don't you rent d7000 and the appropriate length prime and see if it works. D7xxx by itself will not be enough, need a good fast lens in low light to stop motion. Are you in flash range? If you take a d7000 at $1000 it leaves $500 for lens, this is the price of 85 f1.8. Fast zooms are going to be expensive ..... Go used But believe the 70-200 vr1 is something like $1400.

Same issue with m4/3, probably amplified Because of smaller sensor.

No solution save to say you will need more than the body to freeze low light motion. Good luck.
