My K7 did the same thing. But not anymore. I thought I would have to send it in for repair but I fixed it myself and it's been fine since. It's simple:

Just spin the front dial in one direction for about 10 minutes. After that, spin it in the other direction for about 10 mintues. I read to do this at the other forum, doubted it, and it seemed very "quacky" but it worked VERY much. Problem solved.

I think it was an issue with what they use for lubricating the dials at the factory. Sometimes, lubricant bits get caught into the dial or something like that... I dunno. But just turning the dial for about 10 minutes in both directions WORKED.
