Olympus 5050 Vs. Canon G3
I'm stuck between buying the Olympus 5050 and the Canon G3. Can
anyone tell me which is actually better for:
-everyday use (regular indoor/outdoor shots)
I would like to use this camera to take pictures of my brother who
is getting married soon and I want to take professional like
pictures of them:
-action pictures of them at the wedding...
I was also deciding between 5050 and G3. For me was important image quality - chromatic aberration, optical distortion, bright lens and dimension. 5050 is not better then G3. (I excluded Nicon because bright).
My friends also confirm horrible chromatic aberration in Olympus cameras. You can check this: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/C44/C44FARWTW.HTM
Now I have G3 and I'm happy with it. My friends change Olympus for Sony717.
For action pictures are digicams still not good solution because they have 0.5-1 sec. lag. You can eliminate it somehow (prefocus, manual focus - focus lock).
For portraits are also right solution SLRs - because they have shorter depth of field.
So everything is depend on the quality of snapshots which you would like produce.
