Canon Repair (Irvine), Very happy!

I know that we should expect nothing than the best of service from Canon, especially after spending what we do on their product. However, this is not always the case as in a couple reviews I read from unsatisfied customers who sent their camera to the Irvine Center in California. This left me skeptical, as I had to send in my beloved D60 in for repair.

I just got my D60 back from the Irvine Center after about a ten day period. Not only was the part replaced, the camera was cleaned to look “brand new”. I originally had a tiny speck on my viewfinder ever since day one, which I could never get off. Yes!, that too is clean as well as the sensor.

My main reason for posting this was because of the old saying “ An unsatisfied customer will tell 20 people and a satisfied customer will tell 2”. I only found it fair to give credit where credit is due.

Thanks Canon!

Thanks for providing the positive feedback Mike.

My D60 and lenses are there right now for AF adjustment, so I'm encouraged to hear that you had such a great experience. I'm hoping to get the call it's ready sometime in the next couple of days.

You're right, in that most people only comment on the bad experiences. We should all make an effort to include the positive experiences as well.

Regards,

Mike

I'm not sure if it's their policy to call or not. I may not have given them a chance. I called them this morning. They said it would arrive UPS this afternoon.

Just a heads up incase you might want someone to be home.

Thanks Mike...but I know they'll call, since I'm local (15 min away), I physically dropped it off at their facility. They have to call me to tell me to come pick it up!

I have had a number of pieces of equipment fixed at the Canon Center in Irvine on a walk in basis. They have always given me great service and my cameras/lenses have always come back better than new. I'm impressed with the way they have handled me as a valued customer. Glad they are good to those who send stuff in to them.

I dropped off my 24-70 lens to Canon Irvine. They didn't call me. I called them after the 10 day quote they gave me and said it had been finished for a day or two. The lens looks great... The only thing I miss is the ability to follow the status online like I could with Nikons service ...

It required only one day for repairs? Mine is there now for a broken pin in the CF card compartment.

sent mine to irvine for persistent dust. returned with same problem and was told that if they attempted to change the sensor or clean behind the filter(aa i presume) more dust would show up elsewhere. got the run around when i wanted to talk to the irvine service supervisor, but finally got a response via e-mail tech support. was finally told that my complaint will be forwarded to higher ups. 'til then, i'll reserve my glowing reviews on customer support. hope my luck turns for the better.
